Martin Greene, M.D. Appointed to the Advisory Committee to the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER)

May, 24, 2011 – Martin Greene, M.D., a member of the gastroenterology division at Minor & James Medical, has been appointed to serve as a Special Government Employee on an Advisory Committee to the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER).
This Advisory Committee provides expert reviews for the Division of Gastroenterology and Inborn Error Drug Products of the FDA, as part of the process to decide whether new drugs will receive FDA approval. The CDER, a part of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), is responsible for regulating all over-the-counter and prescription drugs as well as promoting and protecting the health of the U.S. population by ensuring that all drugs are safe and effective.
Dr. Greene is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology and has been named one of Seattle’s “Top Doctors” by Seattle Magazine. He received his medical degree from Harvard Medical School and completed his residency at Massachusetts General Hospital. He is a member of many gastroenterological organizations including: American Gastroenterological Association, American Digestive Health Foundation, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, Pacific Northwest Endoscopy/Gastroenterology Society, Crohn’s Colitis Foundation of America, American Digestive Disease Society, United Ostomy Association, and American Liver Foundation.
