We provide comprehensive care for patients with a wide range of infectious disease and travel medicine conditions requiring specialized care, sometimes in conjunction with surgeons, primary care doctors or specialists. Treatment can often be provided on an outpatient basis through intravenous or oral antibiotics.

Infectious Disease & Travel Medicine

Many of our patients have acute or chronic skin, joint or bone infections, fevers of unknown origin, persistent viral infections such as herpes, hepatitis B, or hepatitis C, or chronic fungal infections. International travelers frequently seek pre-travel health-care advice and treatment of tropical diseases. We also treat patients who are immunocompromised by cancer or medications used for organ transplantation, lupus and other immunologic disorders.

We see patients with a variety of other conditions including:

  • Infections after surgery
  • Heart valve infections (endocarditis)
  • Sinusitis
  • Pneumonia
  • Infectious diarrhea
  • AIDS and HIV
  • Animal bites
  • Sexually transmitted diseases
  • Complex urinary tract infections
  • Chronic foot infections
  • Infections involving artificial joints or other orthopedic devices
  • Exposure to communicable diseases requiring preventive medications or vaccinations
