Our rheumatology division is comprised of dedicated subspecialists who are board-certified in both rheumatology and internal medicine. Although patient care is their first priority, all members are also active in medical teaching and research.

Our rheumatologists are experts in the diagnosis and treatment of arthritis and related disorders of the joints, muscles, bones and immune system. Rheumatic diseases can range from simple shoulder bursitis to nagging back pain, osteoporosis and complex multi-system diseases

like rheumatoid arthritis, lupus and sarcoidosis.

Whether a condition is simple or complex, an accurate diagnosis is sometimes difficult to achieve, especially in the early stages. Our rheumatologists act as medical detectives to help establish an accurate diagnosis and direct the proper treatment. Because many rheumatic diseases are chronic, we have physicians who are experienced in helping patients and their families cope with the consequences of ongoing illnesses and their treatments.
